Self locking screws are known as nylock screwsor nyloc screws as well , there are some threads are applied nylock patch for locking screws when screws are driven into parts and provide moe secured fastening especially for engineering fastening applications .
What are materials for self locking screws
There are several different materials for self locking screws so far that meet different applications in industry .
1 . Carbon steel including low carbon steel , medium carbon steel and high carbon steel , these different type materials with different hardness and torques .
2 . Stainless steel , this is popular material for applications with resistant corrosion requuiements . including SS 201 , SS 304 ( A2-70 / 18-8 ) , SS 316 ( A4-70 ) .
What are finishes for self locking screws
Generally , self locking screws have to be plated for carbon steel materials , or it will be rusted quiickly . normal finishes like zinc , nickel , brass , chrome , oxidation and gold . but for stainless steel material , self locking screws can be polished or passived or plain finish .
